Help With Equipment Needed For Rokit KRK RP6's

In the near future, I plan on purchasing 2 x Rokit KRK RP6 speakers. This will be my first experience with 'high-end' audio.

I am just looking for a couple of other things I will need to buy; EG: Will I need a DAC? What about an external sound card? What is necessary and what is a gimmick? Will a sound card make a noticeable difference?

I plan on using the speakers for listening to music, consuming media and some light producing (making hip-hop beats and mixing some tracks)

I think you are underestimating where "high end" audio starts.
I would suggest you start with just the speakers. Adding an outboard DAC IMO would be the best upgrade. Lots to chose from at a huge price range. For the entry level setup you are going for something like this

I agree I could have worded it better, these speakers are high end compared to what i'm used to 😉

Thanks for your response, I have chose this DAC
which I will be connecting with 1/4 inch cables.

Could you please help me out once more by answering the following questions

1. Does cable quality matter with 1/4 inch cables?
2. Are 1/4 inch connections going to give me better audio quality over RCA connections?
