I'm in the middle of trying to replace my iPad Air 2 screen using a kit I ordered online, however I don't know if I'm doing something wrong. I'm trying to pry up my screen after heating, but I don't know how long I'm supposed to be heating it. Should it be more than a couple minutes of constant heating on one part of the screen? The kit came with a suction cup to lift up the screen, but it's not helping currently. So what do I do? I'm trying to get this down and learn how to this sort of stuff. Please help. Thank you.

This is the kit I ordered along with the screen btw: http://www.repairpartsplus.com/iPad-Tool-Set-with-Adhesive-p/gpt16030.htm

keep heating and working the picks around it slowly bit by bit

ifixit rates it a 1-2 hr job, and being your first time plan for more, because if you don't and rush it, you'll break something. there is a reason people charge decent money to fix them. because it's not easy the first 50 you do and you end up breaking a few and owing people a new ipad. lol.

Solution

A hair dryer is fine to use, right?
