Help with upgrading my CPU

So I have a laptop with a CPU that I know is soldered on. Do you know if I could take it somewhere for someone to replace the CPU with a compatible CPU I gave them? I have some soldering equipment and have some experience soldering circuit boards but I have never done anything with a laptop before. Anyone have any insight on this?
