i got vga to rca and s video cabale coming from my toshiba notebook5 to tv but it doesnt work messed with the` laptop display and general stuff. so i am wondering if an rca adaptar to my dvi-hdt input will be worth me getting :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :fou: :fou: :fou: :bounce: :bounce:

your VGA and RCA\Svideo connections are all analog. DVI is digital, so I'm not sure how it would look.

Also, remember, that your TV can only display limited resolutions. So if your notebook is configured with a resolution that the display cannot present, then you won't see the image. This is also true with the refresh rates.

TV's generally aren't flexible with resolutions and refresh rates like computer monitors. This is because they're traditionally designed to work with fixed equipment, like DVD players, etc. Computer monitors must support a very wide range of settings.

Check your TV manual and make a note of the supported modes. They will looks something like this:

1920x1080 @ 60hz
1920x1080 @ 59Hz

1600x1050 @ 70hz

etc.

These settings must match precisely with your laptop. You can change the resolution AND the refresh rates in the display properties in windows. Remember, your laptop will only have a limited amount of choices, so you will need to find a setting that is available on both your TV and laptop
