my internet recently got a problem, i am currently running vista 64 bit and everytime i open my internet explorer it says can not display this web page. i then click diagnose the problem and it says no problem and the bottom right corner shows connected to the internet and and nothing is wrong in network and sharing center. all my games will not connect to the internet either and msn and qq won't either. however, my windows can download updates normally and my nod32 can, too. and what strange is i can browse the internet with another internet explore that has a bracket after it which is "Internet Explorer (64-bit)" and another thing strange is that when i open the normal internet explorer it quickly shows Google which is my home page for like half a second then it goes "can not display this webpage" :fou: and i have another application that will rank all the software will quickly display the rank for like half a second then say fail to connect to the server :fou: now i can't play any games and due to the capability problem i can't watch any video or listen to any thing on the internet with the 64-bit IE. please help if u know how to solve it....

and another thing i need to say is that i don't know very much but i am no noob, restore system? tried. restore internet settings? tried. find proxy server or IP address stuff? tried. reinstall internet? tried.

thanks for your time and help :wahoo:

If the google page popped up and disappeared that sounds like some sort of malware. Trying clearing temp internet history and all that junk. Run a Malware scan with malwarebytes.

If thats doesn't find anything Do what saint said and use IE7. If it still doesnt work try reseting your networking equipment.

You may just need to contact you ISP though, with the broad range of things it is affecting. Most likely your router is not receiving proper addresses for the DNS servers.

thanks for the replies, my network's got a problem but i can go on internet through the 64 bit one and i can download windows and nod32 updates. and i think i'll go trust nod32 which shows no malware. it should not be the problem of my router
