Hey my picture from my lg tv not jd from my lg DVD player

Hey I've just set up my 50inch plasma tv to my lg home cinema but the picture is not hd when playing DVDs I've checked the settings on both systems but still not as clear as I thought it would be is there something I'm doing wrong?

if you are using a blue-ray player conected to your tv with a hdmi cable u should have a hd picture. your hd picture depends on the quality of dvds you are using

Would help to know what cables u r using to connect (HDMI?). What resolution is the TV? To get an improved DVD image, either the dvd player or tv has to have an upscaler. For example, the PS3 upscales fairly well but no comparison to a blu-ray.
