High contrast issue.

my laptop's screen brightness and contrast has been increased and its being difficult to use it due to high contrast. I've tried decreasing the brightness by using function keys but its still higher than usual.. is it any hardware problem?
my system is 'Acer 5738'.

I'm not too sure what you could of done to cause it, or exactly how you can go about fixing it. Maybe playing around in control panel (Display options) would help..other than that I'm stumped. Unless there are any other FN commands that relate to your screen via the keyboard, could be worth playing around with them too. I think it could even be your gfx card or your drivers? Try updating them and see if that helps, I apologise if any of this is a complete hit and miss, only things I can think of to be honest with you.
