This Laptop is about 3 months old. This high usage is causing low battery life that is a problem during school days. May I know what is causing this high CPU usage?

Specs: T2300 Centrino Duo
1 GB RAM
80 GB hard drive
nVIDIA GeForce Go 7400
Thanks!

Have you tried running MSCONFIG to see what services start with your machine? (If you havent run this before, go to Start -> Run-> then type MSCONFIG)

Another thing you can do is do a CTRL + ALT + DEL. Then go to your processes tab and see what processes are using your CPU the most.

Well, I have done both steps above to disable as much crap dell installed in my laptop. For the task manager, system idle process uses the most CPU.
Any ideas, guys?
