We have less than 600 downloads of our TV App on Google play,, yet our analytics is recording 900,000 hits in a month, how is it possible

We just launched an android streaming platform,we are using AVMEDA as our playout and cloud hosting. So far we have only about 600 downloads of the app, but our April analytics showed a high activity of 900,000 hits within the month, how is that possible.
