Hii my hp laptop is showing a strange behaviour . When i plug in the charger the charging led blinks white a few times and then nothing happens. i can't reckon whats the problem. Plz guide me what is the problem and how to fix it ??

Assuming it works fine on mains electricity without gteh battery being in situ, it's best to remove the battery and look for a replacement. Sometimes, if a battery is dying, it can't even pass power through itself.

Don't buy a cheap battery - some are clones of well-known manufacturers and some have been known to cause fires.
