Hitachi dvd driver xp for G5000

I need a driver for hitachi dvd-rom drive g5000 winxp

It's built in to Windows XP.

When playing a movie the video is too dark. The video drivers are okay. What is the problem? Audio is fine.

the version is for win98se. it appears that the patch is in conflict with winxp. cyperlink will probably suggest a newer version which means a purchase which I will not do. End of story.
