how can i hook it up to my new samsung smart tv

i have a magnavox DV220MW9 dvd/vcr player and i like to know how can i hook it up to my new samsung smart tv

Use red/white/yellow outputs on your DVD/VCR, and connect them to similarly colored inputs (labeled "Composite") on your TV. You need cable like this.

If your DVD/VCR has component output as well (I could not tell from the pictures available on the 'Net), you can get better picture by using them, with appropriate cables (and providing that your TV has inputs labeled "Component").

If you go with component, you use optical (SPDIF) cable for the optical. Your player supports it, can't tell about tv since you didnt list model but most do.
