How can I restore an excel document to an earlier date as it looks like the file was saved in error with a lot of the information deleted in error, so I only need to restore to a previous save date. Thanks

Unless you have backup or auto recover turned on or it's on a server, you won't be able to get it back.

In Windows 7 (and probably 8), if you right-click on the file, there is "Restore Previous Version". Sometimes this help (as long as you did not move the file somewhere else, and did not tinker with "Advanced settings" for that drive).
