How can I restore Instant Search in Office 2007? Don't know how I lost it. OS is Windows 10

I discovered that reminders posted in Outlook 2007 Calendar weren't showing up. When I explored several menus under Tools and Options i found that Search wasn't functioning in the Calendar or in Mail folders. Tried enabling Instant Search, but the illustrations in the Help menu don't match what I'm seeing in the Menu bar.
