how can I turn off password protected login for dell inspiron 17 5000 series? Thanks; it's a pain

When turn computer off, won't let me access it again until I enter password. Says it's "password protected" Don't want or need this. How can I get it to turn on and just let me in?

once you're logged in. go to user account and turn it off through there. in win 10 it is in the settings app, while past versions had it in the control panel

edit: in win 10 you can also have it auto log you in every time. if you're on win 10 this is an easy way to get it to stop nagging for a password. again you need to already be logged in to do it.
