How can you tell if its just the plastic thats cracked on an lcd tv

I have a 40in samsung that I was moving. I didn't drop it bang it or bump it but somehow the screen got cracked. How can you tell if it's internal or just the the plastic that's fractured

if it is cracked internally then the screen will bleed black & be visually distorted along the crack.
