How come it takes so long to Render videos in Sony Movie Studio Platinum?

Rendering as a MP4 1080P 60FPS. Which settings should I use and am I being bottlenecked?

AMD FX8350 Black Edition
Radeon R9 280X GV-R928XOC-3GD REV2 3GB
Kingston HyperX FURY 8GB Kit (2x4GB) 1866MHz DDR3 CL10 DIMM

Why Is a 4 Minute Video taking an hour to render!!! Ugh! HELP!

Also if this is the normal, excuse my whining. I'm new to video editing and just made only a handful of short videos!

Sony movie studio platinum is known for having ridiculously long render times (go search any review of the software online - they all mention it), but even so a 1-hr render for a 4 min video seems excessive.

Do you have a lot of complicated effects/transitions in your video? If so, that can significantly increase render times, especially if you use the CPU-only render setting.
