How could I repair the screen in a Huawai Ascend G740?

My mobile phone screen is cracked but is working OK. I wonder if I need to change the whole LCD screen or just the glass tactile screen or whatever it's called. It would be my first mobile repair, but I'm a computer IT technician willing to start with this one.
Huawei Ascend G740 (also called Orange Yumo in Spain).

Depends on how it's cracked, but if it's working, you should just have to replace the top part. The touch part is called the digitizer and you'd only have to replace that if touch is not working.

OK. The top part is simply called that? "top part". I'm googling for it and on ebay. I can see only the full set. You think I should change the full set? I heard it's sometimes not possible to change the outer part only.

If they only see the full set you can just get that and replace the glass. I don't know about your particular phone, but others I looked into you can replace the glass and digitizer separately.

It looks like it's only the outer layer of the glass that is broken, the phone works OK when you touch the screen. Is the outer part the digitizer or is it a glass on top of this digitizer thing?

Digitizer is the device that runs the touch function, it's bellow the top cover of the screen.
