How do I connect my Samsung led smart tv model 5205 to Kenwood vr-7080 receiver for surround sound?

First choice is via HDMI if both have it and ARC capable.
Next is Toslink. If Toslink not available on Kenwood but SPDIF available, a Toslink-to-SPDIF converter does it.

toslink optical audio cable is your only option mate.
The tv has that as an output port,your kenwood is an old model with no hdmi.

You may not get real surround on a lot of stuff via the optical out though & may have to use pro logic option to fill all speakers.

Optical will work as well as HDMI since the receiver won't support lossless surround sound codecs anyway. Make sure that the TV will output in 5.1 channel. That would be in the TV audio menu.
