How do I do a system wipe or factory restore on acer aspire 1640z with XP?

Have an old aspire i want to donate, but want to wipe my info clean.

that's the problem...can't find any instruction on line that works in doing a factory reset. The alt/f10 only causes it to beep and then it starts normally. Thanks for the reply.

Go to Programs > Acer Empowering Technology and run the Acer eRecovery Management.

On the bottom of the eRecovery Management window you will see 3 choices, Backup, Burn Disk and Restore. Click on Restore and you will have the choice of select Restore System to Factory Default. Select Factory Default and follow the prompts and you are done.
