How do you connect your microphone into the Lenovo Thinkpad Yoga 12?

I cannot use my microphone with anything because it keeps saying "external microphone not recognized", then says, "External Microphone not set up" then closes the application.
I have set this up via control panel-sound-set up microphone, and yet it doesn't work.
There is only the headphones jack, which is probably the issue, but how do I get the microphone to work?

Is the microphone not working at all, or just in a specific program?


Also, have you tried the following...

If your microphone isn't working, try the following...

1. Go to "Control Panel".
2. Click on "Sound".
3. Click the "Recording" tab.
4. Click on the device you are trying to fix.
5. Now click the "Configure" button and then click "Set up Microphone".
6. Once that is complete, click the "Properties" button.
7. When you are done with your changes, in "Properties", click "Apply" and then "OK".
8. Then click "OK", again, on the main "Sound window".
