How do you make a laptop charger work?

my laptop works but it's just the charger doesn't work how do i make it work? and to remind you it's not the laptop when the charger lights up the laptop charges just fine but when the charger doesn't work my laptop will lose power quick and turn off. What do i do?

Try a new battery for your laptop or the charging function may be broken.
