How do you see what is connected to your PC?

Is there a way to monitor internet transactions. With all the scams, hacks, keyloggers, etc. How can one monitor there internet transactions and say this information X is coming in and this information Y is going out.

Should you be able to see this information from my IP address A was sent out to IP address destination B?

I think with the advent of Windows 10 and the same privacy issues now having been added to Win 7 and 8, there will be a host of new utilities out there very shortly....

Are we talking 1 PC or a network ? Either way, the problem isn't collecting the data, it is filtering the massive amount of data that you would collect.
