how good is bitdefender firewall

as compared to windows firewall?
I have Bitdefender Total Security 2016 installed on windows 10
Bitdefender firewall was blocking FTP connections. First I tried through windows explorer, but the issue persisted even after I installed a dedicated FTP app.
I read the thread on it at bitdefender forum, and tried all the fixes, but nothing worked for me. The only way I could establish a FTP connection was by turning firewall off. So that's what I did.

I disabled the firewall module, and it automatically turned on windows firewall. I am presently using windows firewall, with glasswire free.

Question is: how much better is the Bitdefender firewall, if any? If it is significantly better, I could try again to solve the FTP problem.

Bitdefender firewall is far superior.

I realized that bitdefender turns on windows firewall immediately, when its own firewall is disabled. That's a good thing.
So until I can sort out the problem, I guess I could just disable bitdefender firewall whenever I need to do FTP, and I will at least have windows firewall, even if I sometimes forget to turn bitdefender firewall back on.
