How many times do I restart the laptop before I'd see the Auto repair option?

I've tried restarting and shutting off. I've tried holding f11, f10 and nothing is working. Any more suggestions?

If there is a problem then it should automatically go to the Advance Startup Options after two consecutive failed startup attempts.

However, a forced shutdown two or three times while the machine is trying to boot should get you in there.

I.e., Forced shutdown = hold the Power button down after powering on until it powers back down again (assuming at this point that you are talking about Windows 8 or 10).
