how to connect 1 subwoofer to a 5.2 amplifier

I have just bought a sony receiver (STR-DH550) - it's 5.2 (2 phono outputs).
My speaker package is 5.1. Is it o'k to connect to one output with a monaural cable or should I try and get a reverse splitter to combine both outputs to a single cable ?
Speakers are Jamo 5.1 (model no: S626)

Any advise would be greatly appreciated; thank you.

Just use one of the outputs. The sub outs are probably in mono but check the speaker set up menu and choose a single sub if the choice is there.
