How to connect a laptop HDMI to cruise ship coax TVs?

The cruise line I use have disabled all inputs on their Samsung flat screen tvs. Is it possible to connect my laptop hdmi to their coax input with some sort of adaptor so I can watch my own movies rather than paying $15 a time for theirs? The tv screen is much larger than my laptop. I guess my other option would be a portable projector. Thanks

There are adapters which will create an HDTV RF signal from an HDMI. But they are quite ($800) expensive. You can watch a lot of movies for the expense of the converter.
