How to connect a laptop with HDMI port to TV with only VGA port?

Hi,

I have an Acer Aspire E 15 laptop with a HDMI port which I would like to connect to my Toshiba TV which only has a VGA port (no HDMI), so that I can watch programmes downloaded on my laptop on the TV screen. Please can you advise the best and easiest way I can do this?

Thank you, it sounds like I will need to buy a separate VGA to VGA cable to go with this as well. Would you recommend doing that rather than buying a HDMI to HDMI cable and a VGA to HDMI converter cable?

It won't really make a difference. It will be VGA quality no matter what.
