How to connect, Dell Laptop with projector via HDMI cable

Take the cable and connect them. You may want to provide some details about what is happening since the answer to the question you asked is pretty clear.

Are you having issues? What issue exactly? What have you tried if anything?

Does the Dell laptop have an HDMI output?
What is the model number of the Dell laptop?
Does the projector have an HDMI input?
What is the model number of the projector?

Dell latitude e6410. Hdmi slot on back
Beamerking ws610. Hdmi slots 1&2 using 1. Have tried 2 also

You should be connecting via HDMI. Make sure you have enabled dual displays in Extended mode. Set that up in either NVidia Control Panel, AMD Crimson/Catalyst Control Center, or Intel's Display Graphics, depending on your graphic solution. Set the resolution of the projector down to it's native resolution of 1280x800. Get a stable image first and then you can attempt to adjust to higher resolutions.

thanks for the tips. followed your instructions but still get the "no signal" message on the projector.
any other tips?
thanks in advance for your help

new note, tried to hook up to the TV, same "no signal" message

If you can confirm that multi-display is enabled and you're still not getting a signal to the external display, I'd say your external is dead or there's some other setting I'm not aware of.
