how to connect laptop to digital receiver via hdmi port

I have laptop and digital reciever ,both are hdmi port available.then direct connection is possibe?,if it is not possible then how to connect..pls reply

Ah, that will not work. The vast majority of laptops do NOT support HDMI in.
