how to connect yamaha htr 2064 to a non arc tv via hdmi

Hi all,....
How to connect yamaha htr 2064 to a non arc sony bravia klv 24p413d tv via hdmi. There is neither optical nor coax. I want to listen best quality audio from my hts. Totally confused. Pls help,....

the only options for connectivity are generally:

hdmi arc
coax
optical
rca
3.5mm

if you lack the first three, you will not get 5.1 but will get stereo.

you could try one of those hdmi arc adapters which connects to the tv using hdmi arc then outputs optical to a receiver. you may be able to get 5.1 then but outside of doing this, no.

Thanks. One more ques, is there any possibility to get 5.1, if i connect set top box or dvd player to avr and then avr to tv via hdmi??

yes, provided those sources output 5.1

sources -> avr -> tv via hdmi

you should be able to get 5.1 from all sources except the tv itself.

the only way to get 5.1 from the tv itself would be as i described above.
