You can't change a phone from CDMA to GSM. Phones are only one or the other. It isn't software that you can just overwrite with something else. They physically cannot be changed. So you would have to use a CDMA phone with a CDMA carrier's/service provider's SIM, no matter the country you are using it in.
There are many companies around the world that use CDMA phones/sims so I am sure you could find one.
If you already have the GSM SIM then your only option to use it is to buy a GSM phone.
