Hello,

My family has alot of old vhs tapes and we have several VCR's. How can i either convert the vhs tapes to digital or connect a vcr to a computer monitor with vga. Ive seen alot of converters on Amazon and tried a few, but none of the ones ive tried have given my very high quality resolutions/fps.

What would you guys recommend?

Thanks
Geza

Well for one thing, the max resolution of your VCR is about 720 X 480, significantly less than 720p. It is going to look bad stretched on a monitor, simple as that. A VHS tape can either support 25 or 30 FPS, also abysmally low.

If you already have a converter, or RF modulator, or analog to digital converter, whatever device you're using to go from RCA to VGA - no other converter is going to improve the quality.

Would this be a good option https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01AFBKSY6?psc=1 ? I think it would be better than a converter hooked up to my PC because it is a dedicated device that doesnt have a bunch of other things running that could cause the video to lag.
