How to disable keyboard but still keep the mousepad

Hi, I have this laptop that the built-in-keyboard does not work! I was hoping to disable this but still key the mouse pad. Please help me...

If you connect an external keyboard, USB one, that should stop the attached keyboard from working. As long as the USB one is plugged in.

That's completely wrong.

I'm not OP, but that's actually my goal; I want to disable the built-in keyboard when my usb keyboard is plugged in, and after an hour of googling, I can't find a solution.

I would suspect it can be disabled in Device Manager or else doing a Ctrl/Alt/Esc and searching processes and stopping it there.
