i changed my harddisk of asus x540sa laptop. how to recover os.

You don't download a hard drive but you can go to Microsoft's website and download Windows 10 or whichever version you had, and install a fresh copy.

Better than that, put the old drive back in and use Easeus to clone everything on that drive on to the new one which you will need to connect via USB. The caddy for that will cost you very small money and that way, you get all your personal files on the new disk.
