How to factory restore lenovo laptop after formating the harddisk

lenovo u400s ideapad's hardisk and ssd ve been formated.

kindly advise how i can factory restore it to its orginal partitions and with all lenovo default softwares

it was formatted via a bootable 8.1 windows usb, and now requires a windows product key to activate which is weird because i thought this was embed with the laptops hardware, either way i still want to restore the laptop to its orginal state wen it brand new out of the box, is this still possible ?

So, you install 8.1 on it? Did it came with windows 7? look like you might have delete the factory restore partition.

yes unfortunately all partitions have been deleted recovery, oem etc... it orginally came with windows 8 is there any way to restore it to its orginal state btw even while i try to reload the windows to i need to enter the product key and cannot skip this step.

on the whole i want to restore it as it was at the time of purchase

Probably need some kind of data recovery program or place. Which wont be cheap

cheaper to buy a recovery disk from lenovo
