How to format a disk on a netbook

Hello,

I have a notebook compter with a seperate disk drive the computer picks up the disk drive but as soon as i put a disk in it says the disk might be corrupt i may need to format it but nothing comes up to enable me to do this what do i do

so you have a laptop with 2 HDD bays? is that correct?

and you want to format the HDD in Bay 2? correct?

is there data on that drive you need? if not, then allow windows to format it and assign it a drive letter - done

use Disk Management to format the drive (right mouse-click Computer in Start Menu, then click Manage)

Are you talking about an external floppy drive?
