How to get audio to only play through headphones (sorta broken jack)?

look, my laptops audio jack got messed up but it still outputted sound and detected when i plugged in my headphone, if i had them at the right angle. now its gotten worse. it still plays audio through the headphones but it doesn't detect them when i plug them in (they don't appear in control panel in the sound devices thing), so the audio still plays through the speakers as well. i was wondering if there was a way to trick windows into always thinking there's head phones plugged in, or just making the microphone jack into a headphone jack. I'm using an msi laptop. any help is appreciated thanks!

Disable the speakers in control panel and it should continue playing through the headphones( unless like most laptops, the headphone jack and speakers operate down the same line, the plugging in of a headphone cable cuts the current to the speakers and so sound plays through headphonws instead, and in disabling the speakers would also disable the jack)
About the changing mic jack- SOME motherboard drivers allow users to change what each jack does, my old board came up with a promt window asking me what i plugged in "Line in, headphone out, etc etc" regardless of which port i used. Ie i could play headphones out of my line in jack if i wanted. However since this is a laptop, i doubt you could do that. There may be a program out there that can let you, if so the do a quick google search. Otherwise, buy a usb sound card to plug your headphones into from now on, these are fairly cheap

i tried disabling the speakers, and it also disabled the headphones. i would just get a usb sound card but im out of town for a while and it would take me a while to get one.

Try to look for some software that allows you to re purpose the mic jack, if there is, chances are it will prompt you to install some drivers for it to work, they should be okay to install
