The "2" reflects the current "+CREG" setting (2 means "Enables unexpected network registration and location information messages" )
"1" indicates that the phone is registered with the network,
In my case "00DE" is the Location Area Code (LAC) in hex,
and "665A" is the CellID (CI) in hex.

How do we know the address of LAC using AT Command?
Dee,
If I am getting it right, you want current location of your GSM modem in the form of address. If this is true, then you can get it only if your GSM service provider broadcasts it in your Location Area.
It would be better if you obtain Location Codes based on area and prepare a list of what Location code means which Area.
