How to install touch screen on IPAQ

I am in the process of installing a touch screen on an IPAQ 6315. I have accomplished everything except the electrical connection. It appears it was originally sonic welded. Is there a process of making this connection without sonic welding equipment?

I'm not entirely sure, so take what I say with a grain of salt: I think soldering would make a good substitute for sonic welding in this case.

Thanks for the input. I was actually going to try it but the traces are on a thin plastic film and there are 8 traces running parallel and each has only a little over a millimeter between the traces. First I think the hot solder would melt the plastic and second soldering without overrun from one tract to the other would be a real trick.
