How to know positive and negative in speaker wire

I have a radio shack 22 gauge speaker wire with one side clear and the other with white stripe--both have copper wires in them. Which is positive or negative? Any ideas? http://img.tomshardware.com/forum/uk/icones/redface.gif

In Australia anything with the raised ribs running down them, or a stripe is negative.

Just make sure you hook up the same at BOTH ends.

Figure 8 speaker cable, has the same copper content both sides.
