I already had the program. My problem was opening the windows live mail program, then trying to find my old mail with windows live mail open. the key was simple. Do not open winlivemail first. Click on the old mail first, then do not click OPEN. Click OPEN WITH. Open With Windows Live Mail. Then the old mail will open, and winLiveMail is permanently linked to the old mail. Simple.

But how did you find your old mail after updating to Windows 7?

You need to Import your Outlook Express stoage folder into Windows Live Mail.

Email for Windows 7 -- reading all the responses definitely helped me out. Here's what worked for me. I opened the WLMAIL application in the Programs directory. ~ path: PROGRAMS\WINDOWS LIVE\EMAIL\WLMAIL. It automatically imported my mail files into Windows Live. Once this was complete WLMAIL works just like Express Mail did before. I am thrilled ~~~ RayD
