How to put one app on laptop and one app on external monitor

Hello,
I have a laptop and an external monitor/tv and I'd like to know if there's a way to 'throw' one app/website to the monitor and have a different website on the other

Go into the display properties via the control panel of by right click on an empty spot on the desktop, select your external monitor and look for a box that says "extend desktop onto this monitor" or something along those lines.
