Solved! How to remove Grenam.A or renamer virus?

so for the past 6 months a virus called renamer is hitting all my files and games making them in some cases obsolete ( windows defender keeps deleting them but the virus keeps spreading + all my photos have a ("I'm sorry") on their angle. how do i remove it without formatting my system (win 10 pro 1909 build)

If as pervasive as described, I hope you have a backup of key files. A full re-installation of Windows (and your apps) may be the best option.
