Have you looked in the Play Store for a root utility that operates within the device and not from an external computer? Have you tapped to become a Developer?

Thanks for replying, no I haven't looked in the play store but I will. I have tried to root from my computer and I have also tried from my device. I am running lollipop 5.1.1 and I don't think that there is a program that I haven't tried. I have been searching the forums including xda and I am seeing the same problem. There doesn't appear to be a solution at this point because the phone is fairly new.
I bricked my other cell so I am being very careful this time around. Henry
Take a look at www.hexamob.com. I know they use Kingroot (note the missing O) and I think it works in Android 5 but not 6. Can't do any harm to try it.

I would like to try but can't find phone and the systems stop at 4. I'm running lollipop 5.1 Thanks for the suggestion!
Every time I try to root it fails, and I think it's because my bootloader isn't actually unlocked. I went into settings and enabled it to be unlocked, but I'm struggling to actually unlock it
A lot of manufacturers block the rooting process and so do some service providers. Have a look at this site and unless I'm wrong, your phone isn't listed. https/www.xda-developers.com/root/
I haven't been able to root my kyocera c6743.
The memory sucks on this phone, the battery doesn't come out. It's not a good phone.
I'm giving this phone a - 10 total bust
