Ever notice how with every show it previews, Netflix plays a trailer video? Many users find this annoying, as they believe these videos should be optional rather than mandatory.
While Netflix hasn’t yet given viewers the option to turn these preview videos off, there is a Chrome/Firefox extension called ‘Netflix Tweaked’ that can help. It allows users to skip these short videos. It also sets the ‘Continue Watching’ and ‘My List’ feeds to the number 1 and number 2 positions under Netflix’s ‘Featured Content’.
This helps minimize scrolling and allows quicker access to the shows they are most likely to watch - those on the ‘Continue Watching’ and ‘My List’ feeds. Here’s how to access ‘Netflix Tweaked’ from Chrome:
1. Enter ‘Chrome Extension Netflix Tweaked’ in your browser search bar.
2. Select ‘Netflix Tweaked- Chrome Web Store’
This will help you download the extension directly from the Chrome Web Store.
3. Select ‘Add to Chrome Extension’
A new screen will pop up with an overview of the extension, and show its logo and design. On the right side of the screen there will be a blue block with the words ‘Add to Chrome’. Click it to start downloading the extension.
A new prompt will ask ‘Add Netflix Tweaked?’ Select ‘Add extension’.
4. Netflix Tweaked has been added to Chrome
The extension has now been added to Chrome, and will be visible when the extension can act on the current page.
5. Revert back to Netflix home page
