How to stream movies from external hard drive on tv which is connected to sa d10

My 32 inch led tv (lg) is connected to sony sa d10 multimedia speakers through audio input and ouput. It works fine when i stream movies through my cable or listen to music on channels.. when I connect my hard drive to my tv to watch movies which I have downloaded , the movie's output or sound doesn't come in speaker(sa d10 sony) , it just play in tv speakers . I just don't knos what to do.. please help me

Try connection your multimedia speaker to audio various port on your TV or just go through setting to see if its configured correctly to play on speaker

The speakers are connected to the TV audio output or to the cable box?

Some TVs don't output audio from all sources.
You could try connecting the hard drive to a media streamer that would connect to the TV via HDMI.
