how to take off a windows password off of a latitude c640 laptop

I had resently bought a latitude c640 laptop from a man that was having a yard sale and he forgot to take off the password and every time I tried to take off the password it asks for the password. Can anyone help me. I can be reached at Removed, don't post your email on a public forum.
