How to transfer photos from my house with gallery to the SD card

Solution
You should be able to move things like photos, music, etc., however to move apps is a whole other story.

For moving the images, there should be a file management app on the phone that you can move things through. If not there are many you can download and install. Or you have the option of connecting the device to a computer via USB cord, moving the files over to an empty folder on the computer and then, through the same USB connection, copy them back over to the SD card.

You may also wish to set up apps like your camera or where you do your downloads through (other than play store) to safe files directly to the card as well.

As long as the old phone still works, you can get them. You can either email them to yourself and then download them to the new phone (if the old one has data service or can access WiFi) or you can connect the old phone to a computer via USB cord, move the files over to tan empty folder on the computer from the old phone. Then disconnect that phone from the computer and connect the new one to the computer via the USB cord and copy all the files back over to the phone (or the phones SD card). Side note, I would really suggest leaving a copy on the computer as a backup.
