We can't give you exact answers without model numbers.
If both the Dish box and Sony have the same type SPDIF connection (optical or coax) then you need the correct cable. Then you go into the audio menu of the Dish box to configure it.
If they don't have the same type of connection you would need an active converter to connect them.
